Arrival, Welcome, and Customer Service
My journey to the W Algarve in Albufeira, Portugal, began with a delightful pick up the customer buggy, setting a luxurious tone right from the start. As I arrived at the hotel, the welcome was extremely warm and inviting. Greeted with complimentary drinks, I immediately felt the stress of travel melt away. The exceptional customer service continued throughout my stay. From the breakfast staff to the porters, everyone went above and beyond to ensure my experience was nothing short of perfect.
Bedroom Comforts
The rooms at the W Algarve are impressively spacious, ensuring a comfortable and luxurious stay. Each room features a balcony, offering a private outdoor space to relax and enjoy the views. The bathroom is elegantly designed with a double sink, providing ample space for personal grooming. Additionally, the rooms boast a walk-in shower and a bidet, enhancing the overall comfort and convenience of the stay. These features combine to create an atmosphere of luxury and relaxation, characteristic of the W Algarve’s commitment to guest satisfaction.
Spa Facilities
The spa at the W Algarve is a true oasis of tranquillity. Although I chose not to partake in the treatments, finding them a bit pricey, the range of facilities available was impressive. I had the opportunity to explore the hot tub, ice tub, sauna, aroma showers, and steam room. Each offered a unique way to relax and rejuvenate, surrounded by serene and beautifully designed spaces.
Bar Experience
The hotel bar was a standout feature of my stay. The bar staff were not just employees but mixologists and entertainers, creating an atmosphere that was both sophisticated and fun. Their expertise in crafting cocktails added an extra layer of enjoyment to my evenings. The ambiance, combined with their friendly and engaging service, made the bar a nightly destination I looked forward to.
Birthday Surprise
My stay coincided with my birthday, and the hotel made it extra special. A delicious birthday cake in my room was a lovely surprise that added to the celebration.
Breakfast
Mornings at the W Algarve were a delight, with a breakfast spread that catered to every taste from continental to full English. The variety and quality of the food were excellent, providing a perfect start to each day of exploration and relaxation.
Pool Area
Although I didn’t take a dip due to the cooler December weather, the pool area at the hotel was impressive. The large main pool and the heated option were both inviting, and I could imagine how wonderful they would be in the warmer months.
Incidental
A practical tip for future guests: be prepared for a hold of 100 euros per day for incidentals. I found it’s best to use a credit card for this, rather than a debit card. With a credit card, the amount is simply held and then released at the end of your stay. However, if you use a debit card, the money will actually be taken out of your account and then returned post-stay. This small detail can make a big difference in managing your finances during your luxurious escape at the W Algarve.
