In December I had the chance to stay at the W Algarve in Albufeira for my birthday, and it was an experience I just have to share. The hotel mixes luxury with a laid-back vibe that makes you feel both pampered and totally at ease. Let me walk you through my stay, from the cool buggy ride at check-in to chilling out in the gorgeous rooms.
Buggy Pick-Up
Right off the bat, the W Algarve sets itself apart. Instead of walking to the lobby, I hopped into a buggy. It felt like a mini adventure, zipping through the stunning hotel grounds, getting a sneak peek of the place. It was fun, a bit fancy, and a great start to the trip.
A Warm Welcome
Checking in was a breeze which included complimentary drinks! I love hotels where the staff walk you to your room , chatting about the hotel’s amenities and answering my questions along the way. It was personal, friendly, and made me feel really welcome.
The Room:
When I first walked into my room at the W Algarve, I was pleasantly surprised by its spaciousness and modern design. It felt airy and comfortable, with a balcony that provided lovely views, making it a great spot to relax. The room was big, giving me plenty of space to spread out and make myself at home after spending my days exploring Albufeira.
What really stood out for me was the bathroom. The shower was fantastic, consistently delivering a satisfying and refreshing experience, and the addition of a bidet was a nice touch, offering that extra bit of convenience and cleanliness. The room, with all its space and amenities, became my cosy retreat, where I could recharge and get ready for the next day’s adventures
The Spa
As I stepped into the relaxation room, its serene atmosphere set the tone for what was an incredibly rejuvenating journey. The transition from the warm embrace of the Jacuzzi to the shock of the ice bath, followed by the aromatic showers, felt like a curated sensory adventure designed just for me. The heat of the steam room and sauna seemed to melt away all my stresses. I love that the majority of the spa is set outside, so after all your chilling and treatments you can just lay on a lounger with the sun on you. Bliss!
The Rooftop Restaurant
The restaurant on the top floor is definitely a must-visit. The food is simply delicious, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between fine dining and a relaxed vibe. One dish that stood out for me was the cod – it was cooked to perfection, encased in a delightfully crispy batter that just took the whole experience up a notch.
The Bar
This bar is the kind of place you want to hang out all night. The drinks? Amazing. The service? Top-notch. It’s chilled, the staff are super friendly, and the cocktails are creative. I spent quite a few evenings here, just soaking in the vibes.
Staying at the W Algarve was an experience filled with small luxuries and big comforts. It’s the kind of place that makes a trip memorable, and I can’t recommend it enough.
